The changes made to this Advice on 2 July 2021 are minor in nature. New Directions have been issued that remove the amnesty on the use of the Victorian government QR code check-in in all workplaces. The links to Directions in this Advice have been updated to the new Directions which were all reissued at 11.59pm on 1 July, as the Directions all expired at that time.

In line with the Acting Premier’s comments in his media conference on 23 June 2021, we expect the current restrictions to remain unchanged until 11.59pm on 8 July 2021.

With effect from 11.59pm on 25 June 2021, restrictions were further eased across Victoria. There continues to be some variation to restriction levels between Metropolitan Melbourne and Regional Victoria. The Acting Premier indicated that these restrictions would remain in place for another two weeks.

Masks:
• are still required to be worn indoors, unless an exemption applies; and
• must be carried at all times, and it is recommended that masks are worn outside if a distance of 1.5m cannot be maintained.

Attending work:
• The requirement to work from home has been removed.
• Offices may open with maximum capacity of 75% or 30 people whichever is the greater. This limit excludes any people that were attending work because it was not reasonably practicable to work from home.
• Capacity limits and other restrictions for publicly facing venues have been amended.
• Restrictions on private gatherings have increased to 15 visitors per day across Victoria, which means that undertaking work in occupied homes is unlikely to be impacted by limits.

Employers who have not commenced use of the Victorian Government QR code check-in system –previously referred to as the Service Victoria QR code check-in – should ensure they implement the system as soon as possible, as the amnesty expired at 11.59pm on 1 July 2021. Detailed information about the requirements are reproduced in this Advice.
